Everyday Plastic is looking for a brilliant partnerships consultant to help grow the organisation through strategic partnerships. This is a contracted role suitable for a freelance partnerships specialist with experience of working in-house or agency, across a range of sectors.

Everyday Plastic is a young and growing non-profit organisation focused on raising awareness around environmental issues. We educate businesses, communities, schools, families and individuals about our personal connection to the global plastic problem and encourage action at public, industry, and government level.

We have teamed up with Greenpeace UK to launch The Big Plastic Count – the largest investigation of domestic plastic waste ever to have taken place in the country (and possibly the world!). The campaign – taking place in May 2022 – will have significant impact at public, business and policy level engaging tens of thousands of participating households across the country.

Having developed the organisation steadily over the last three years, we are now looking to launch new projects and expand our programme.

We are looking for someone to help develop and implement strategy, identify prospective partners and manage relationships with organisations and businesses.

With your proven track record in securing partnerships, the ideal candidate will hit the ground running. You have a strong awareness of current opportunities, are able to think and plan strategically, as well as research prospects, meet people, lead successful pitches and work collaboratively with our small team.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Proactively research and initiate conversations with prospective partners

  • Deliver to a set of key performance targets

  • Build and manage a pipeline and database

  • Maintain strong relationships with our partners

  • Work closely with the Founder and our small team to identify and shape partnership proposals

  • Along with the Founder, attend meetings with prospective partners to discuss partnership ideas, pitch proposals and negotiate packages

  • Identify and scope out new project opportunities

  • Manage and negotiate contracts with partners from drafting to signing

  • Stay up to date with the plastic problem and related environmental/social issues in a wider context to help direct our programme and make it attractive to prospects

What we’re looking for in a successful candidate:

  • Strong and confident communication and presenting skills

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a good eye for detail.

  • A proactive approach to work with the confidence to generate ideas and strategies

  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box when it comes to campaign tactics

  • Composure under pressure and able to work to deadlines

  • Flexibility and be able to adapt to changing internal and external circumstances

Your knowledge and experience:

  • 4+ years experience in a similar position

  • A proven track record of success in developing, securing and managing partnerships

  • Experience or an understanding of working within a small organisation, non-profit or start-up

  • An interest or awareness of the global plastic problem and major environmental issues would be beneficial

Here at Everyday Plastic, we are committed to diversity and inclusion and promoting equal opportunities within our small organisation. You can read our Diversity & Inclusion policy here.
